M&E Engineering Manager - Client Direct / In-House - Unique & Amazing Site - London, South Kensington - £60,000
Exciting opportunity to work client side on a unique and amazing building located in London, South Kensington. The successful candidate will be either Electrically or Mechanically qualified with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance. The M&E Engineering Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the operational running of the building and is essential to ensuring the M&E functioning and complex technical systems.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 16:30pm
Key duties & responsibilities
- Manage electrical, mechanical, plumbing & HVAC systems.
- Ensure continuous availability and high standard of maintenance.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the building’s management systems, ensuring knowledge is disseminated to others.
- Conduct inspections of electrical, mechanical and safety systems, ensuring maintenance records are kept updated.
- Ensure that a permit to work is in place and compliance with all relevant statutes and safety regulations are maintained.
- Develop and maintain asset register.
- Create and implement Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes.
- Manage spare parts inventory and contractor relationships.
- Manage work allocation and team performance.
- Develop and review staff training ensuring team competency and safety.
- Provide reports to Senior management detailing issues and solutions.
- Assist Facilities Manager with operating and special project budgets planning.
- Provide technical assistance and support to other departments on request.
- C&G Electrical Level 3 equivalent or exceeds or C&G Mechanical Level 3 equivalent or exceeds (desirable)
- 18th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrate a good understanding and be technically competent in all building services, in particular UPS, Generators, Water Treatment, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- Ability to lead, motivate and direct a team of technicians/operatives.
- Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
