Mobile Foot General Maintenance Operative - Birmingham - National Facilities Management Organisation
CBW Staffing Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced General Building Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of repairs, maintenance, and minor construction tasks across multiple sites. You will ensure buildings are kept in excellent condition, responding to both planned and reactive maintenance requests.
This is a mobile foot
opportunity, working on a variety of commercial contracts within Birmingham City Centre
.
Package:
- Competitive salary between £32,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Core hours are Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Responsibilities:
- Perform general building maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, tiling, and plastering
- Carry out minor electrical repairs (if qualified) and assist with larger repairs
- Conduct routine inspections and address maintenance issues promptly
- Assist with refurbishments and improvement works
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests efficiently and professionally
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any major issues
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant trade (advantageous)
- Proven experience in a general building maintenance or multi-trade role
- Skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, tiling, plastering, and general repairs
- Basic electrical knowledge (preferred but not essential)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
